The world that we live in is filled with great gifts from
nature that aid in our health and wellness. These wonderful
natural resources abound, however not too many of us know the
basics about where to find them or how to use them to improve
ourselves and our well being.
We are offered products all the time that tout the great things
they can do for us. We hear about how they can improve our
physical appearance, help us feel better and improve our lives,
but all too often, these great products are filled with
additives and preservatives. These added ingredients might
irritate our skin and cause problems in our bodies.
Our love of and faith in science can explain why many of us
choose synthetic chemicals over natural products. We believe
that with science, nearly anything is possible and that if the
"scientific experts" have created a product, it is somehow
better for us and safer to use.
While science does indeed benefit humanity enormously,
sometimes it does not produce the healthy ingredients that we
expect. Sure, the preservatives and other ingredients used in
many products give them a longer shelf life, but what are they
doing to our bodies?
We use all kinds of cosmetic products and later hear media
reports explaining how they contain substances that may be
harming us. With the recent reports of high amounts of lead in
lipstick to the use of hydrogenated oils in our food being
linked to heart disease, it's difficult to know which products
and foods are safe and healthy to use.
Fortunately, we can find trustworthy and healthful products
that are derived from the very force that has been caring for
and fueling us since the beginning of human times: nature.
We can eat organic produce and Herbs that are grown with
abundant sunshine and pure water. We can use hair formulas and
toiletries that are made from natural ingredients, and see and
feel the effects that these wholesome products have on our
bodies almost immediately.
These powerfully healthy foods and products provide our bodies
with valuable Vitamins and meet many of our other essential
nutritional needs, but in today's fast-paced world, many of us
do not have time to fix fresh, home cooked organic meals. The
produce and other ingredients can be expensive and time
consuming to prepare.
Many of us are trying to eat as healthfully as possible and
wish to reap the benefits of using natural vitamin supplements
to boost the nutritional value of our diets. We buy Discount
Vitamins and Discount Herbs to save money and ensure that we are
taking much-needed nutrients into our bodies on a consistent
basis.
While these vitamins can aid us in keeping our bodies healthy,
they are not meant to treat disease, however several studies
have shown that they may protect us against some diseases.
Antioxidants found in many vitamin supplements prevent or slow
the oxidation or free radical production in our bodies that is
known to damage cells. This cell damage prevention can aid in
keeping us looking and feeling better on the inside and out.
We can find vitamins and supplements at almost any store, but a
better place to look for healthy and discounted natural vitamins
and supplements is online. A quick web search will find Vitamin
Sales and Herbal Sales that save us money and time. Many web
sites offer the finest in natural heath care products at deeply
discounted prices.
Whether we are searching for natural bladder supplements, such
as Echinacea with its antiseptic and antiviral properties to
help fight off bladder infections, or brain nutrition, such as
foliate and b-vitamins to keep us sharp, we can find it all for
sale online or at our local vitamin or health food stores.
The advantage of shopping online is that we can compare many
products at once and research these products using helpful
online guides and references to find the best natural products
for us. Also, there is no need to wait in lines to speak with a
clerk who may or may not be able to help.
When we are looking for digestive supplements, joint support,
weight loss products such as healthy alternative sweeteners or
any natural products to support and boost our health, we can
find the information that we need about them online and almost
instantly.
These online guides are free to use and with them we can
discover very insightful information such as how essential fatty
acids like omega-3 and omega-6 work to keep our hearts and
brains healthy and how coenzyme q10 helps to keep us energized.
This invaluable wealth of information is available at our
fingertips. It allows us to more easily discover the vitamins
and herbs that can benefit our health and wellness, which are
derived from the natural world.
It's an exciting time to live in as we have in the past moved
so far away from nature, but are now discovering how far away
from health that path has taken us. Luckily, nature is welcoming
us home again with open arms and healthy alternatives.

Health Benefits Of Meditation For A Better Life
The health benefits of meditation are so abundant that not only
can someone with a health problem recover; someone who practices
meditation regularly can also prevent a lot of health problems
and diseases from developing. Meditation has been used widely in
managing many serious diseases, so much so, that success has
been recorded in actually reversing mental disorders like
depression and others. How do the health benefits of meditation
come about? Here is what happens during meditation:
* You consume less oxygen
* You breathe more calmly
* Your blood flow goes up, bringing down your heart rate
* You develop stamina, especially useful for cardiac patients
* You relax deeply
* It lowers high blood pressure
* It brings down anxiety since blood lactate levels reduce
* Muscle tension and headaches reduce
* You develop self-confidence
* Serotonin production is enhanced putting you in better
spirits
* Helps women get rid of premenstrual syndrome effects
* Benefits those who have undergone surgery, accelerating
healing
* Boosts the immune system
* Develops emotional stability
Where women's health is concerned, the health benefits of
meditation are many. They can get rid of all their phobias
during the most crucial time of their lives, namely pregnancy.
Through the calming influence of guided meditation, fears are
allayed and they develop better focus helping them deal with
their feelings. Meditation on a regular basis helps to bond with
their babies, and once the babies are born, it helps them
appreciate and face all the challenges that lie ahead with
confidence.
Slower Aging - People who practice transcendental meditation
experience a lowering of their body temperature, leading to
longevity.
Overcoming Stress - Everyone is prone to stress from his or her
day-to-day lives, be it at work or at home. Depending on the
individual's ability to handle it, stress builds up anxiety
leading to medical conditions like high blood pressure and
eventually cardiac diseases. With meditation, stress can be
prevented, and therefore, all the resulting medical problems can
be prevented too.
Managing Pain - People who are in constant pain gradually
develop anxiety, lowering their capacity to bear the pain.
Luckily, with meditation, it is possible to relieve anxiety, so
that pain management becomes easier. Even pregnant women are
taught to meditate to increase their capacity to bear labor
pain. For those suffering from arthritis meditation has been
found to be of great help in reducing pain.
In Chronic Illnesses - There are many hospitals where doctors
use meditation to help their patients deal with chronic
illnesses like cancer. They are even able to reduce medication,
thereby bringing down the necessity to worry about side effects
of potent drugs. With patients who have terminal illnesses,
meditation helps a great deal by reducing their anxiety and
depression and increasing their comfort levels.
Hypertension - Meditation is very effective in lowering blood
pressure in patients who suffer from hypertension, so that they
are at lesser risk of cardiac arrests.
There are plenty of other common medical conditions where one
can experience the health benefits of meditation like
infertility, psoriasis, respiratory problems, irritable bowel
syndrome, fibromyalgia etc. When anxiety reduces, people feel
more confident and in control of their situation, helping them
to deal with it more effectively.

Warning About Babies And Natural Cures
Many of us are comfortable experimenting with our own bodies
and health with alternative medicines and therapies such as
herbal remedies and "natural cures". It is important to realize
though, that when it comes to your baby, so-called "natural
cures" can be dangerous!
My spouse and I noticed something a little different when we
gave our baby girl so-called "all natural" teething tablets.
This seemingly reputable over-the-counter option "looked" like a
safe and viable solution to help with issues related to
teething. The packaging insisted it was safe and natural, and we
took that at face value. We called the doctor and asked about
it, and they said it was "probably fine". But like I said, after
giving it to our child we noticed something a little different
that concerned us.
What was different? Well, our baby was sleeping. I don't mean
just sleeping normally, but sleeping REALLY well, almost
immediately after taking the tablets. The packaging for the
tablets said that the child would fall asleep because they were
no longer irritated by their teeth. (Yeah right!)
After some investigation, we found that the teething tablets
had "natural" sedatives that were the reason the child falls
asleep after taking them. We also found out that one of the
ingredients was a plant substance that has caused VERY serious
side effects in children and infants (including DEATH).
Needless to say, we were shocked... and never gave the tablets
to our child again (we threw them away).
The moral of the story? Just because something says "natural"
doesn't mean it's safeand don't assume that it's safe just
because you can get it at your local grocery or drug store.
As I heard a TV comedian put it once...
"Heroin is NATURAL... A pack of wolves... is NATURAL..."
Just because it says "natural", doesn't mean it's safe for your
baby.
A question that may come to mind is "exactly how can you tell
what IS safe?" Our best advice is to read the ingredients on
ANYTHING that you feed your baby or give them as a "remedy" for
something, and don't give your baby ANYTHING without doing so
under the guidance of your doctor. Don't just take the doctor's
word for it though, either. Doctors do make mistakes. Look up
ingredients online if you don't know what they are. A good way
to search for ingredients is go to any popular search engine and
type in the substance name along with the phrase "side effects".
You could also add the word "baby". (So before you give your
baby a sleep aid, you could search for something like "baby
sleep aid side effects".)
Since our experience with the teething tablets my spouse and I
have taken to "the less outside help, the better." For anything
from teething, to sleeping, to tummy aches we have searched for
approaches that are the least likely to have any harmful side
effects... which usually means trying things that don't involve
medicine, or that involve minor changes in diet or routine as
opposed to herbal supplements and the like.
Whatever you do, be very careful about what you give your baby,
and don't jump on the "natural cure" bandwagon until you've done
enough research to know that something is safe. Don't experiment
with your baby's life; the risks just aren't worth it. If you
really need help, some simple research on your part may turn up
solutions that you never knew existed.

What To Look For In Supplements As Natural Cures For Diabetes
With over 194 million people suffering worldwide and the
ranking as the 6th leading cause of death in the western world,
it stands to reason that people are more than ever anxious to
find a natural cure for diabetes. Recent figures from the
American Diabetes Association reveal more than 20 million
Americans are afflicted with the disease, while approximately
six million more live undiagnosed and another 40 million or more
may be considered pre-diabetic.
Natural remedies for diabetes have been around for many years
and there is a large body of evidence that suggests the
combination of supplements, appropriate diet, weight loss (type
2) and moderate exercise can be a successful treatment plan for
many sufferers.
Diabetes And Drugs
Conventional pharmaceutical treatments for type 2 diabetics are
aimed at restoring euglycemia (normal blood glucose
concentration)
and long-term diabetic complications associated with the disease
to a minimum.
The main classes of diabetic treatment drugs (oral agents)
include glitazones, sulfonylureas, biguarides, alpha-glucosidase
inhibitors, thiazolidinediones, and meglitinides.
Many diabetics benefit from taking two or more of these
diabetes drugs, each of which targets a different problem.
Combination treatment is so common now that some pharmaceutical
companies market pills containing a combination of these oral
agents.
The more serious side effects of these synthetic drugs include:
Death
Heart complications
Blackouts
Fluid in the lungs
Hypoglycemia
Convulsions
Allergic reactions
Yellowing of skin or eyes
There are numerous common nasty side effects including:
gastrointestinal problems
Bloating
Diarrhea
nausea
low blood sodium levels
headache
possible dehydration
weakness
fatigue
dizziness
respiratory effects
abdominal pain
lack of appetite
dark colored urine
muscle pain
anemia
and so on!
The FDA approved diabetes drug Muraglitazar, was found to
double the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death, according to
a study released on the Journal of the American Medical
Association'
Rosiglitazone, have been shown to cause or exacerbate heart
failure and pulmonary edema.
The key point here is that drugs commonly prescribed to treat
diabetes only suppress the systemic damage that has already
occurred, and often creates further deterioration and weakening.
Given these frightening realities it makes sense to look for
natural cures for diabetes.
Natural Cures For Diabetes Most Effective Herbals
Herbal extracts have been used to treat diabetes for thousands
of years. Published clinical data has confirmed the efficacy of
many of these extracts and shown the most effective to be:
Gymnema Sylvestre
Bitter Melon
Banaba
Pterocarpus Marsupium
While these herbal extracts from an important part of a
scientific natural formula for diabetes they must be backed up
by ingredients which not only target nutrient deficiencies which
may have attributed to the condition in the first instance but
also assist in better absorption and distribution of sugar in
the blood stream.
The main problem with virtually all natural diabetic
supplements on the market today is they do not contain enough of
the most effective nutrients and therefore do not address
diabetes from a holistic perspective. They only focus on blood
sugar control. There should be ingredients aimed at helping
strengthen the liver and eliminating toxins, along with other
nutrients to help calm the body and help regenerate the cells
within the pancreas, which, in turn may help improve the
manufacture of insulin. This requires additional herbal extracts
and other specialty nutrients.
Targeting The Root Cause Through Multi Action Ability
The most effective holistic diabetes formulas must contain the
key herbal extracts listed above which in turn must be supported
by at least the following herbals, vitamins, minerals and
specialty ingredients, all combined in a synergistic way to
enhance the efficacy of each other. This requires the expertise
of highly qualified bio-scientists or chemists. Be sure that any
diabetes formula you consider using have not been put together
by marketers or doctors.
Valeriana wallichii extract
Milk Thistle Extract
Luteolin
Chromium
Copper
Zinc
Calcium
Magnesium
Manganese
Alpha Lipoic Acid
A broad spectrum diabetic supplement not only helps to control
blood sugar levels and promote efficient insulin production and
secretion, manage effective glucose metabolism (blood sugar
uptake) and reduce the risks of potentially fatal diabetic
complications, but also helps protect the body from serious
diseases such as:
Kidney failure
Heart disease and stroke
High blood pressure
Non-traumatic amputations
High cholesterol
Nervous system damage
Cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and blindness
Natural Cures For Diabetes - Don't Forget Your Omega 3's
Any natural cure for diabetes should be complemented with omega
3 fatty acids. They are a key component in any diabetic's
treatment arsenal. Omega 3 fatty acids have been extensively
scientifically proven to have significant cardiovascular
benefits by lowering triglycerides and blood pressure, thus
helping reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. With the
health risks now associated with the intake of fatty fish, rich
in omega 3's, the easiest way to incorporate omega 3 fatty acids
into your diet is through molecularly distilled fish oil
supplements. Healthy people should aim for 1000mg of Omega 3 per
day.
While living with diabetes can be a debilitating and difficult
struggle, it does not always have to be treated with high risk
pharmaceutical drugs. The market is full of supplements posing
as a natural cure for diabetes but as mentioned above most of
these full well short in what they contain. This is because the
majority of supplements are manufactured to a price. There is
however a few supplement companies out there not burdened by
shareholder pressures and long distribution chains. These
companies have fewer costs meaning they can include more of the
ingredients that should be there while still managing a
reasonable profit. To learn more about this topic please visit

Natural Remedies For Irritable Bowel Syndrome Migraine
Studies have shown a definite irritable bowel syndrome migraine
link. In fact some studies brought to light that those with IBS
are really getting a bum deal as they are also at a greater risk
of suffering with migraines, depression and fibromyalgia.
The migraines are much the same as those experienced by non-IBS
sufferers. Symptoms include: moderate to severe pain on one or
both sides of the head; a pulsating or throbbing pain; pain that
is worse whenever you are physically active; nausea with or
without vomiting; and sensitivity to light or sound.
Thankfully there are some natural remedies that can be used for
migraines. However you need to ensure that they do not interact
with any medication or treatments you are taking for other
Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms, or for any other condition
for that matter.
These include:
1. Feverfew is an herb that has been used for centuries as a
traditional remedy for migraines. It is said to be able to both
prevent and treat migraines. However, it can cause abdominal
pain, gas, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and nervousness in some.
Also, if you are taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
(NSAIDs) you should not take this herb.
2. 5-HTP, which is also known as 5-Hydroxytryptophan
compound that your body produces. It is used for making
serotonin and the melatonin. This is also available in the form
of a supplement that comes from the seeds of an African plant,
called Griffonia simplicifolia. Unfortunately, you will have to
take this for between 4 to 6 months before it will become
effective in reducing the severity and duration of your migraine
headaches
3. Magnesium can naturally be found in leafy green vegetables,
nuts, seeds and whole grains. Of course, it can also be taken
as a supplement. It is known to help regulate blood sugar
levels. Plus, it is needed for normal muscle and nerve function,
heart rhythm, immune function, blood pressure, and for bone
health. Studies have shown that magnesium can reduce the
frequency and severity of your migraines by 42% when taken for 9
weeks. However, if you have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, you
should know that one of magnesium's side effects is diarrhea,
digestive irritation, nausea and loss of appetite. Also, you
will need to be careful not to take this supplement while taking
muscle relaxants
4. Butterbur is an herb that comes from a shrub-like plant that
grows in northern Asia, Europe and parts of North America. It
can be used to treat migraines as well as stomach cramps. This
herb can help to prevent migraines within 2 to 4 months of when
you begin taking it. The side effects include mild digestive
complaints, which was mainly burping. However, you could also
notice indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation.
You also should not take this herb if you are allergic to
ragweed, as this herb is part of the ragweed plant family.
As you can see from the above list, you should always seek the
advice of a nutritionist, dietician of your physician if you are
going to seek an alternative course of treatment for migraine
pain. They can consider your condition and personal
circumstances and identify the best approach to resolve your
irritable bowel syndrome migraine, as well as any other symptoms
you may be suffering.

Cure Your Sleep Disorder With Natural Treatments
The treatments for sleep disorders today can be generally grouped into three categories: behavioral or psychotherapeutic treatments, sleep medications or drugs and treatments that don't fit into the other two categories. The excessive sleep disorder narcolepsy will cause most patients to have unexpected periods of sleep throughout the day for as little as a few minutes to as long as half an hour at times.
There are generally three types of sleep disorders: lack of enough sleep, sleep disturbance, and too much or excessive sleep. The person suffering from a sleep disorder may have difficulty getting to sleep at night or staying asleep as well as having difficulty staying awake through the day; they may also experience different types of behaviors that prevent them from staying asleep during their normal sleeping hours. One type of sleep disorder, lack of sleep, is also commonly known as insomnia and is what people usually have rather than a more complex sleeping disorder.
Sleep apnea can be life threatening; this problem is usually accompanied by heavy and loud snoring and causes the person to wake up sometimes hundred of times during the night without remembering ever being awake. In the excessive sleep disorder type the most well-known is called narcolepsy. Finding that you need coffee, colas or other caffeine drinks throughout the day to stay alert or awake can also be a hint that sleep disorder treatments need to be investigated.
There are number of sleep disorders that appear in different people and even those with similar sleep disorders often display different symptoms. Many people say they survive nicely on four or five hours of sleep; others say they need nine or even ten hours. The sleep disorder narcolepsy can have complications such as cataplexy and hypnagogic hallucinations; cataplexy is the weakness or complete paralysis of the muscles, and hypnagogic hallucinations are vivid dreams that happen during the stage of sleep between being awake and being asleep.
Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome is a sleep disorder of circadian rhythm, characterized by the inability to wake up and fall asleep at the desired times, but not by the inability to stay asleep. Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD) is the involuntary movement of arms and/or legs during sleep. Narcolepsy is the sleep disorder of falling asleep spontaneously and unwillingly.
Don't get into the habit of drinking a glass of wine, hard liquor, or any other alcoholic beverage at bedtime; alcohol is a central nervous system depressant and it will interfere with your REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and cause other problems you might not be aware of. Some health experts suggest that contracting then relaxing all your muscles starting with your toes and proceeding upwards as you lie in bed can help you relax. In bed do try to focus on anything pleasant, long enough to distract you from any worries that are keeping you awake.
Some people say that sleeping with your head facing north helps you fall asleep because your body is better aligned with the earth. Concentrating on some of the insomnia tips you've heard in the past may put your mind at rest long enough to allow you to go to sleep. Your pillow may make you feel as though you're lying uphill or downhill and if it is too hard may press into your head uncomfortably, reducing the chance of your falling asleep.
In some sleep tests they used a flashlight to shine light on the back of the knee and tested the reaction of the brain on the sleeping centers and the light was detected; your body knows when there is a light shining on the back side of your body. Make sure that you don't have any light on in the bedroom, including the red light on digital clocks, night lights or any other light, even a small flicker; any light at all can stop the production of melatonin which is produced when it starts getting dark enough in your bedroom but may shut down if even the smallest light is glowing. You need to produce melatonin for a good nights sleep.
If you lie in bed struggling with the day's stresses and worries, try some of the insomnia tips you've heard over the years such as counting sheep or visualizing a blank screen. Some doctors may offer sleeping medications as a short-term solution along with some insomnia tips, but will seek to find the underlying cause of the sleeplessness and treat the cause instead of the symptom. Among the many insomnia tips provided by doctors and other health professionals, the most important tip is the ability to get physically relaxed enough to fall asleep.
Finding the solution to your sleeping problems or sleep disorder will be worth the investment in time. Your doctor or sleep specialist may be able to recommend support groups to you. Consider going to a sleep disorder center because they provide the newest research for the many issues that involve any sleep disorder.

Hair Loss Remedies - Nurse's Report On Conventional And Natural Treatments
The statistics today show that most men have a 50% chance of experiencing hereditary hair loss by their 50th birthday. Female and male pattern baldness varies from population to population based on the genetic background of the individual. The severity of baldness can vary quite a bit. It ranges from the common male pattern alopecia, alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair on the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all the head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the entire body.
Fungal infections of the scalp can cause some hair loss in children but is easily treated with anti-fungal medicines, try to find the natural kind. If the thyroid gland is overactive, as in Grave's Disease or is underactive, hair may fall out. And treating the thyroid disease will help remedy this. One less common type of baldness is called traction alopecia, which is most commonly found in people with ponytails or cornrows who pull on their hair with too much force.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder also called "spot baldness" that can result in hair loss ranging from one area to every hair on the whole body. Tumors and skin growths can also cause a localized baldness. And correcting a hormone imbalance may help prevent further hair loss too.
Traumas such as chemotherapy, childbirth, major surgery, poisoning, and extreme stress may cause a less common hair loss condition known as telogen effluvium. If a medication is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different drug or you may find you really don't need it at all. And hair loss can happen as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes.
Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil, called Rogaine in the U.S. and outside the U.S. as Regaine, are drugs that have been reported as having shown some success in partially reversing loss but one needs to consider carefully the side effects. Be aware there are side effects and serious side effects sometimes with the hair loss drugs that are usually used.
Propecia is available with a prescription only and comes in the form of a pill. It's for men only and may take up to six months before one can tell if it's working or not. Products for hair loss include: shampoos, shampoos with conditioners, conditioners, lotions, creams, concealers, thinning-hair shampoos, laser combs, laser brushes, the Lasertron Hair Growth Brush, herbal based products, chemical based pills or tablets, Nizoral shampoo, Neutrogena T-Gel, and many, many others.
Immunosuppressant drugs that are applied to the scalp have been shown to temporarily reverse alopecia areata, though the side effects of some of these drugs make this therapy highly questionable. And serious stress reduction can be very helpful in slowing down hair loss. The surgical methods used include hair transplants, whereby hair-producing follicles are taken from the back and sides of the head and used in the bald or thinning areas.
There are many natural home remedies and many recipes for making solutions that can be applied to the scalp. The raw onion remedy for hair loss: take half of a raw onion and massage the scalp with it then cover the area overnight, then shampoo and rinse the scalp in the morning. For an unusual remedy, some swear it works: try the fingernail buffer for hair loss. Three times a day or so, for about five minutes, buff your fingernails on your right hand with the fingernails of your left hand. This remedy is supposed to stop hair loss, encourage new hair growth and prevent the hair from graying. Another remedy: massage the scalp with the fingers daily.
Another remedy: massage the scalp each nigh with one part rosemary oil and two parts almond oil. The vodka and cayenne remedy (be careful if you try it (test on the skin first for sensitivity) - mix one jigger of vodka with a half teaspoon of cayenne and rub it on the scalp. Blood is supposed to rush to the hair follicles that are stimulated by the vodka and cayenne pepper. For the olive oil and rosemary remedy, use equal amounts of olive oil and oil of rosemary then combine them in a bottle, shake vigorously, massage into the scalp, put on a cap and shampoo the next morning.
The onion juice and raw honey remedy: prepare a hair-growing elixir by combining 1/4 cup of onion juice with one tablespoon of raw honey, and then massage the scalp with the mixture every day.
And finally, Polygonum Multiflorum is a traditional Chinese cure for hair loss. And whether the plant itself is useful or not, the general safety and quality control for herbs imported from China can be very questionable these days.
And try massaging the scalp every day. Getting good circulation to the scalp is very important.
Keep in mind that hair loss should be continually treated, preferably with a natural approach however. If you stop losing hair after trying any of the natural treatments, you may find that you need to continue if you start losing hair again. Hair loss treatments and remedies can be free, low cost or expensive. The natural treatments are generally relatively inexpensive. And it's important to find out exactly what is causing your hair loss problem in order to choose the right approach for you. And concentrate on giving the immune system a boost with a natural plant food diet to give your hair the best chance to regrow.

Some Natural Cures Made With Honey
Honey, especially mixed with cinnamon, can cure a multitude of ailments. Honey is produced in all parts of the world. Scientists of today believe honey can be used without any side affects for a number of diseases. Honey is sweet but if taken in the right dosage as a medicine it won't harm diabetic patients. It's important to remember that these ten natural sweet cures haven't been independently verified. These are homeopathic cures, many passed down from generation to generation. I found many uses of honey mixed with cinnamon to cure ailments from heart disease, acne, hair loss, and gas. I will focus on the top ten cures to try.
Arthritis is one disease that can be cured with honey. One part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and a teaspoon of cinnamon will make a paste that will noticeably reduce pain in a matter of a couple of minutes. Patients suffering from arthritis can take one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon once in the morning and again in the evening. It's been said that taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. Copenhagen University tested their theory by giving patients a mixture of one tablespoon of hone and one half teaspoon of cinnamon before breakfast. The results were that within a week, 73 patients out of 200 were relieved of pain and within a month, arthritis patients could again walk without pain.
Cholesterol is said to be treatable with honey. Mix two tablespoons of honey and three tablespoons of cinnamon in 16 ounces of tea. This mixture is said to reduce the level of cholesterol by ten percent within a short amount of time. As with arthritis, it is said that pure honey taken with food daily will reduce cholesterol levels. Along the same lines, using cinnamon and honey on bread and eaten at breakfast revitalized the arteries and veins leading to the heart and helpful towards preventing heart attacks.
Men, pay attention! A mixture of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon made into a paste can help baldness and hair loss. Apply the paste before your shower and leave it on for approximately five to fifteen minutes then wash the hair.

How To Use Natural Cures for Everyday Health Issues
Natural cures for everyday Health Issues takes many forms. We call them Grandmas' old remedies or natural cures, but they are cures without using medications. Do you know how to stop a baby's hiccups? A little bit of sugar on your finger will take them away after he's done sucking off the sugar. Another one for hiccups for someone older is to try to scare them out of them, sipping water from a glass upside down, and then there's my personal favorite. Taking a big, deep breath and holding it until you either turn blue, pass out or your body forces you to breath. And that's what it does; you can't voluntarily hold your breath to turn blue.
Some other old remedies I remember from living with my Grandma. Do you have a cold? Then the best thing is to do a sink full of dirty dishes and make the water as hot as you can stand it. Personally, I would just rather go sit in the shower. Have you ever had vapor rubbed on your chest and covered with a piece of flannel? Been there, done that lots of times. Our cough syrup was honey and lemon juice.
Headaches also have many natural cures you can try. Exercise is a good idea, a brisk walk will get your blood circulating, release contracted muscles and generally just lets you relax. My personal favorite is a hot bath. The hot water also helps release bunched up muscles and helps you to relax.
Did you know that dehydration could cause headaches? It's been printed that you need to drink at least six to eight glasses of water a day. I have heard the excuse that you don't like the taste of water, but now it comes in so many flavors and without sugar that excuse is pretty well not usable anymore. In addition, other natural cures for headaches include acupressure, acupuncture, and aromatherapy. You need to press or massage on the fleshy area between thumb and forefinger, that's one of the pressure points for acupressure.
Other ways to get rid of a nasty headache is to lie down in a dark room avoiding bright lights. Alternate hot and cold washcloths applied to the area where the pain is located. If you haven't eaten in a while, have something to eat that is nutritious. Do slight neck rolls and shoulder lifts to relieve tense muscles in your shoulder and neck area.
Here are some interesting natural cures for symptoms of pregnancy I wish I'd had when I was pregnant. To relieve symptoms of morning sickness there are natural cures you can do to help the situation. One of the most obvious is to cut out spicy and fatty foods. Another is to stay away from strong odors such as onion, garlic, and coffee. You should eat several small meals a day instead of three big ones. Try eating a few soda crackers with a couple of sips of room temperature water before you get up in the morning. Again, acupressure is recommended by wearing sea bands three quarter of an inch down your wrist in between tendons. Last, eat what sounds good to you. My doctor gave me that advice and it has been good for me throughout my life. Generally, if it sounds good, you can keep it down better.
Heartburn can also be helped by many of the same remedies of morning sickness. Some extra hints are avoiding trigger foods that are acidic, spicy, and fatty. Avoid tight fitting clothing after you've eaten which can worsen the symptoms. One other idea, add some slippery elm powder to a cup of tea.
Natural cures are available for arthritis sufferers as well. Ginger extract is a natural anti-inflammatory substance. It takes damaging oxidizing agents out of the body. In other words, it's an antioxidant. Ginger extract is completely natural and can be taken and have no side effects. Willow has also been used to ease pain. The Greeks used to mash the leaves of the willow plant with a little wine and apply it to the sore area.
Lifestyle changes can significantly impact pain levels of arthritis. Getting some exercise daily will help the joints moving freely and strengthens the joints. Don't overdo, but a little exercise will go a long way to keep you moving freely. It helps some sufferers if they cut back on certain foods. Some of those foods are red meat, dairy products, and tomatoes. Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, include plenty of Vitamin C and you'll find your joints will feel better but you're also eating healthier too.

Eczema - Natural Treatments For Eczema
What are some natural eczema treatments available to the modern day sufferer and how effective are they in soothing inflammations? Well, it has been proven that almost 80% of the patients having an Eczema condition are 'owners' of a hyperactive immunity control system. As we have already said it when talking about antihistamines, the immune system releases histamine as a reaction to offending factors.
Moreover, patients suffering from Eczema do not process appropriately essential fatty acids. This leads to a faulty control of fatty acids, a fact which triggers mild to severe skin inflammation.
Primrose oil is one of the natural solutions preferred by patients suffering from Eczema. 250-300 mg per day of this oil will re-establish control over fatty acids and diminish skin swelling.
Also, one useful and fairly cheap solution is fish oil. About 5-10 grams of fish oil will work miracles in the reduction of skin swelling symptoms.
Another natural treatment is grape seed extract (administered three times per day, about 50 mg). Grape seed extract works as an antihistamine and this is why it is preferred in treating mainly allergic contact dermatitis. However, it has its share of success in the treatment of atopic dermatitis as well.
Licorice root has high anti-inflammatory properties and it can be applied on the skin. It functions similarly to topical corticosteroids. This means that it diminishes swelling and itchy sensations. It is generally recommended in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Licorice root extract included in the composition of a moisturizer will give the best result in the amelioration of Eczema symptoms.
On the other hand, licorice can be also taken orally: you can make a solution out of one teaspoon of licorice root in 10 ounces of water (kept in there for 10-15 minutes). It can be administered three times per day. Pay attention: too high doses can lead to high blood pressure.
Burdock root extracts are successfully functional in skin healing. For adults, the dose can be administered two times per day, for one week. For children, burdock root tea or burdock root extract can be administered once (maximum twice) a day.
Balsam of Peru, an ingredient often used in fragrances and which could lead to Eczema aggravations, is nonetheless used in the treatment of such a condition as well. The herb has anti-inflammatory properties. If associated with ointments (whether they are moisturizing ointments or topical steroids), balsam of Peru leads to reduction of skin inflammations and of itchy sensations. Skin dryness can be managed by applications of calendula creams or ointments.

Natural Cures: Prostatitis-Fighting Supplements
For people who are more into natural cures, prostatitis is also a condition that could benefit from them. If you already have prostatitis, clean living is not enough to alleviate the condition - carefully observing your medication and natural supplements would help speed your recovery along.
A person who is suffering from prostatitis may suffer from fever, chills and persistent groin and joint pain. This occurs because the prostate gland swells - usually due to bacterial infection - which in turn causes pain when urinating, and a constant flu-like feeling, among other easily detectible symptoms. Treatment via regular ingestion of medications such as alpha blockers, antibiotics and pain relievers would sometimes be enough, but there are some who claim that natural cures work even better. Here are some of the more popular natural cures prostatitis patients could avail of.
1. Saw palmetto - Derivatives of this herb are used to treat not only prostatitis, but also a prostate-related condition called benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) - a non-fatal, non-infectious natural affliction in which the prostate is enlarged. It occurs naturally to men over the age of 50, though it could also happen to younger men.
While there has been little by way of scientific data that would prove the efficacy of saw palmetto as a prostatitis cure, many men swear by it, and claim it has greatly helped reduce PSA levels and prostate size within only one month of treatment.
2. Quercetin - Quercetin is essentially a flavonoid, a substance found in citrus fruit. It has been proven to be effective in combination with ultrasound at 20kHz at 1 minute in the treatment of skin and prostate cancers. In fact, cancer cells in such a condition have been known to show a 90% mortality rate, with no mortality reflected in the normal cells surrounding the target area - meaning cancer cells mostly die while the normal cells don't. This substance is a known inhibitor of mast cells, and is such is said to be effective in the treatment of chronic prostatitis.
Chronic prostatitis is a type of prostatitis that occurs more slowly than acute prostatitis, and the symptoms such as fever and pain are not as severe as with the acute version. However, it is also known to persist longer, and possibly even recur in the span of years.
3. Zinc supplements - This supplement has proven to be especially effective in combination with antibiotics in treating chronic prostatitis.
Prostatitis is generally curable, but this doesn't apply to all cases. There is a type of prostatitis that is recurrent; this involves bacteria that doesn't go away immediately. Even when using natural cures, prostatitis could be an especially tricky condition. No matter which herbal medication you choose, it is important to know if it will be harmful or helpful to the medical treatments (radiation therapy, medications, etc) that you may be receiving in the meantime.

cyclic disorder of distressing symptoms and also the emotional

significantly with in seven days after the start of

PMS is believed to be triggered by the changes in progesterone
and estrogen levels. Many premenopausal women suffer from
symptoms of PMS at different points in their menstrual cycle.
Symptoms include cramping, bloating, mood changes, and breast
tenderness tied to the menstrual cycle. It includes average

Some of the dietary measures can be helpful for the women with
PMS and associated symptoms. The studies have shown that women

Alcohol can affect hormone metabolism, and alcoholic women are

and balance the hormonal fluctuations that women experience
every month. Vitex's normalizing and balancing action is
particularly beneficial in treating painful and irregular
menstruation. Geranium is often recommended for hormonal
conditions such as menopause and PMS. Used in the past for

Three Alternative Natural Remedies to Better Your Health
Day in and day out we often find ourselves complaining about how tired we get throughout the day. One thing is for certain, if we don't take action on anything nothing will ever change. The way most of our nine to fives lives work it is no wonder we have tendencies to stress and fatigue. It seems as though out diets have been getting worse and worse as the need for quick eating at cheap prices have helped fast food companies flourish in today's world. So what can we do to sustain our energy levels, sleep better, live better and improve our general well-being? Well, the answer isn't so simple however we can improve peices of our help through basic steps.
Along with exercise when the time allows, it is important to maintain a healthy diet. Here is a list of some simple and natural remedies to help with the fatigue of life.
1. Stop drinking soda or atleast drink healthier soda. Often times these carbonated beverages are filled with sugars, preservatives and caffiene all of which are bad for the human body and promote stress and fatigue. Many do not realize this but drinking soda can lead to tooth decay, breakdown the interior walls of the stomach, increase the chance of diabeties, increase stress and lessen the quality of sleep you get.
To provide a healthy alternative, try drinking a tonic call Kombucha Tea. Kombucha is a natural tonic that has been known as a healing tonic in the East. Kombucha is flavorful and quite the healthy alternative to caffinated beverages such as soda. Kombucha is also known for its versatile and healing properties. It is also possible to brew kombucha from home with the right know-how.
2. Another way to fight fatigue is to dump that coffee. Coffee can be a great way to wake in the morning but because of its high caffiene content, an individual is almost certain to have a caffiene crash by mid day and be sluggish until bed time. Coffee can promote stained teeth and bad breathe as well as increase stress levels due to the high level of caffiene. All in all there is not much nutritional value in such a drink, in fact, it can strip away nutrients in your body as well as dehydrate you.
A suggestion for a healthy replacement of coffee would be a tea known as Yerba Mate. Yerba Mate Tea is grown sustainabley in the rainforests of South America and has been known for its various healthy aspects. Yerba Mate itself carries a plethora of nutrients and minerals all of which are needed to sustain healthy living. Yerba Mate Tea, like Kombucha and Tahitian Noni Juice have been known to aide in numerous ailements. Yerba Matte has also been known to provide a huge burst of healthy, non-irratible energy that lasts throughout the day!
A supplement also found to be quite helpful in reducing fatigue is called Noni Juice. Noni Juice has been revered for centuries to provide good health for many who have taken the juice. Many have claimed that Tahitian Noni Juice has helped them with joint discomfort, arthritis, bad sleep, low energy levels and so forth.
These are just some basic concepts in finding alternatives to common unhealthy habits we as a society have deemed the norm. By looking outside the box there are many healthful opportunities that we commonly miss out on. By changing a few aspects of our diet we can reduce stress, reduce fatigue, improve our comfort, think clearer, act smarter, do more, live better and lead more active lives.
Common problems can occur however when we don't research the supplements we take and we don't actively take part in our health. It is important to be health-wise and to take an active role in learning and discovering ways to change your life for the better. It is truly amazing how such minor day to day changes can make all the difference in our health and general well being. Listening to your body more often is the key to great health and wellness and the ability to create more energy in your life.
